Is 3.55 too weak?

Is 3.55 too weak?
I recently put a 3 inch body lift on my 1996 F250 (I know its cheap, but I am poor), and I am interested in getting some 35 inch BFG MT's. I am running the stock tire now, its metric, but I believe the size comes to 31.7 inches. It has plenty of power now, but with my 3.55 gears, will the 35's make it feel too weak? Would going to a 4.56 be too much for highway driving?
I am going piece by piece building it up, and I guess I am also wondering if it is a better idea to get the tires and rims first, or change the gearing. It will be about 6 months between purchases where I will have to drive with one or the other.
Oh, its a 5 speed with a 460.
