i have a 97 250 cc sb superduty that the front springs look like they have been bowed in the oppisite direction what can i do to fix this cheaply i have no suspension travel at all please help afraid somethings going to give out and break
add-a-leaf kits, there like 30-50$ at your nearest auto parts place next to the lift blocks, just unbolt the 4 bolts on the 2 u clamps on your front axel and slide 1 leaf under each set and bolt it back up, i belive they come with new hardware, not a permanent fix but it will deffinetly help a little bit, new leafs for the 250s are about 150$ a side for stock weight rating and not that bad to replace
Your shackle bushings are probably gone or at least in a lot worse shape than the springs themselves are. The front spring bushings are common to wear out too. I wouldn't do a thing untill you replace any bad bushings on it.
FWIW, the local spring shop just replaced all my shackles and bushings, rearched all 4 springs and put in an extra leaf on each rear on my 97. It was right at 500 bucks for all of it and I couldn't be happier. Normally I would never let someone else touch my truck but that guy convinced me it was worth it to let him do it all. I realigned it myself when I got home and all I had to adjust was the toe. Everything else fell right in to perfect factory specs just from replacing all the bushings and the rearch.
