engine id help

im planning on building a 429/460 and my school has a block that he says he will sell me

ive checked the block for cast #s and heres all i got

on the front i found 1L17A and 460 13

on the back i found 2z551470 and 460-1

and on the bottom i found dive-aa

i was thinking it was a d1ve block but what are all the other numbers and is this block any good

yeah its a D1ve block and they are good, date code favors it being a 1972 block.

so is it a 460 or 429 and what does the aa stand for

429 and 460 use the same block so you can't tell with that. the AA is just a minor revision indicator. (if it was a major revision it would change the main part of the casting number)
