EGR gone bad
I have a 04' F-350 with a 6.0 with 44,417 miles... today after having the truck in my local dealer for over 3 weeks they call me and tell that the EGR valve has blown out and the truck is 6 months out of factory warranty!! the years got it not the miles. Can anyone tell me if this has been a big problem with these trucks... they told me that with all the damage that was caused it will be $10,000 or 11,000 to fix it

Yeah, EGR system is a problem, but it should not have done that kind of damage unless you totally ignored the symptoms. Definitely get a second opinion. Since out of warranty anyway, I would be looking for a good independent shop. Or else try to sweet talk Ford customer service to help, because that is ridiculous.
Dealer shops are best left to Ford warranty work.
