Im having an issue with a vibration in my steering wheel. At about 60mph i will get a vib in it with the throttle on. You let it off and it will go away. I do have some play in my sway bar but that should not be an issue considering that is for body roll control. If i rev the truck stationary there is no vibration.
This maybe a stupid question but drive at 65 or so and let off the gas and coast to 60 and see if you still have it then. If this is truly a engine or driveline imbalance during load at acceleration it should do it at most any speed. If it is only prevelant at 60mph during acceleration i would suspect maybe driveshaft imbalance but you would feel it elsewere not just the steering wheel.
Do similar tests at 5mph intervals with heavier throttle. Try to repeat the conditions under varying speeds and loads. Also i would like to think that you don't have your hubs locked if it's 4WD.
Driveline vibrations are not felt in the steering wheel they are felt under you butt. If it is in the steering wheel you have something wrong up front. Like a tire may need balanced. I had the same situation once and it was just a tire out of balance.

Need a little more info.
What are you driving?
Sounds like a wheel bearing possibly.Does the noise go away during braking then return on acceleration?
Vibrations are hard to pinpoint. I had a similar vibration in my F250. I could feel it in the steering wheel and gas pedal at speeds below 50mph. I had the tires rotated and balanced and it seemed to go away. However later, since I rarely drive it above 70mph, I noticed that beginning at around 70mph I had a bad vibration that got worse with speed. So, I had the tires balanced and rotated again, and guess what. The high speed vibration is gone, above 70mph, but the lower speed vibration is back. I decided its the tires and since they have a lot of miles left I just drive it and try to ignore the slight vibration. So, I guess my point is, I would start with the tires. Good Luck.
Not the same thing and other threads have gone off track because of incorrect part names being used.
I don't like to be accused of throwing people off track. If i have in any way shape or form i appoligize to those that i have confused. I try to answer questions to the best of my ability from what i have learned or experienced.
Here are the definitions of "Drivetrain"
Drivetrain
Vehicle components which act together to move the vehicle forward or backward. On a rear-drive vehicle, it is the combination of the engine, transmission, differential and drive shaft. On a front-drive vehicle, it consists of the engine, transaxle and drive axles.
And another
Drivetrain - All the components, excluding engine, which transmit the engine's power to the rear wheels: clutch, transmission, driveline and drive axle(s). Reference: Truck Writers of North America (TWNA)
A motor vehicle's driveline consists of the parts of the drivetrain excluding the engine and transmission. It is the portion of a vehicle, after the transmission, that changes depending on whether a vehicle is front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or four-wheel drive.

Found the issue. First i had the tires balanced and that did some for the issue. Then i found a bad ujoint at the yoke. That also did alot for the problem but it was still there. I had an issue with a f150 last year that had vibration through the rotors. I changed my rear rotors and no more vibration. Rides perfect now. thanks for all your inputguys

You're not the first guy to find slightly warped rotors causing weird vibrations in one of these trucks. I'm glad you found it...I hate little vibrations and the like...drives me nutz chasing them!
Biggziff,
Sorry if I misundersood your intent. As from my first comment stating that i believe we all new how the word "drivline" was being intended thus my comment "their both the same". I didn't get that anyone was confused by this other than maybe yourself from your comment. I agree that being "specific" on certain subject is key to getting a more accurate answer. Again i appoligize for any assumed accusations on my part.
