Guys my i have a 1990 f350 4x4 auto tranny... and when it shifts from first to second.. it shifts hard as hell.. the whole damn truck lurches forward when it shifts... and from 2nd to 3rd its hard but not quite as hard.. is this normal? the tranny was rebuilt about a year and a half ago but i have no idea what kinda gears was put in.. any ideas? is this normal? (which i doubt) thanks in advance
Some of the slushbox fans will be here before long. I have seen post similar and seems like the filps was the culprit. If it doesn't have three pedals I'm pretty ignorant.
hows your speedo and odometer do they work if not maybe your speedo gear is stripped out also could be your rpm sensor if thats not working properly it won't shift right either
Mine is a C6 2WD and it does the same thing. I was told it has a shift kit in it. If you're new to the truck you'll get to learn when it's time to shift and ease off the throttle a bit to minimize the hard shift. Mine shifts hard into 3rd when it's cold but once it warms up the shift to 3rd is much smoother. Once again I had to learn when it's time to shift and ease off a bit. I hope it's normal...lol.
Yea my spedo and rpm gauges all work and i did learn when to shift it haha I just didnt know a shift kit could make it shift like that anyways thanks guys i really appreciate yalls input. anyway my truck is for sell if any one is interested in it... times are tough and I just now found a damn job.... behind on the bills horribly..

May be not too far wrong. I am not an expert but the throttle position sensor may be faulty as above or it could be the Manual Lever Position Sensor.
Probably if you could read the codes it would tell you.
Someone else will maybe able to tell you how.
