Smile 2004-2008 F-150 Evolution Programmer~Does this work?

I was wondering if those custom Edge programmers work. Does anyone have one or know anything else about them?

Heres a link telling about them
Edge Products: Product

Also while I am at it, does any one have any suggestion on performance parts while on a budget? I am just lookin' at putting in about 2 grand.

Thanks

We have more than a few threads on the Edge, and its recommended settings. If you search for Edge Evo, or just Edge. You should get the results you want.

Personally, I have one, and I love it. Lot's of people will tell you the same thing. There are more options than just the Evo though. There is a Gryphon tuner, and a couple more that other people will back as well.

Don't know of anyone unhappy wih Edge products on F-150's. You might also look at Gryphon and SCT. They are bot capable of using custom tunes just for your application. SCT's transmission management can't be beat imo.

My Edge changed my shift points which made me really happy. Stock ones sucked. I doubt if I gained any HP though, even on Level III. I run premium fuel and have it set on level III all the same when gas is cheap.

When it hits 4 a gallon, it will be on level III with E85 like last summer. It ran just fine like that, and my mileage was extremely close to level 1 on cheap gas. Try it out sometime. I didn't floor it much at 3.00 a gallon of E85, but it wasn't pinging, and it was giving me 15.2mpg a gallon on level III. When it was stock on E85, it was like 12.7 a gallon. Must be the timing.

What the What? I don't even get that on any octane of unleaded at any setting on my edge. I ran E85 a while back and averaged 9.5 mpg.

What's your secret? Down hill both ways?

Im getting about 14-15mpg mixed, on LVL 3 with 91 octane. About 18mpg on the highway. Both averaged over several months on 35" Mt's.

I just got an Edge Evolution last week. I have a 2005 and now its like I've got a brand new truck. The transmission now shifts like a sports car, better throttle response, like 3-4mpg increase (city and highway)...This thing is awesome. You can keep tabs on the engine parameters. I have mine set on level 2 but as soon as this tank of 87 octane runs out, I'm gonna try level 3

Naw man, and I'm in Colorado. 5.4, 3.73 gears...37 gallon tank. E85 is such a high octane that you can run the edge on level III and advance the spark 1/2 a degree on top of their setting. They won't recommend it, but it works just fine. Bumps the mileage back up. If I was getting 9 off of E85, I wouldn't run it at all. I doubt it would ever be cost effective at that rate. I'm not a big fan of E85, but when it's a dollar under gas, and gets decent mileage, it's worth it.

I got an Edge shortly after I bought my '06. I highly recommend it over stock! Its also nice having it up on the dash to display as four gauges. I ran the Edge for a while then I wanted to try custom tunes. I got an SCT just a little before the Gryphon came out (or else I probably would have saved my money and just sent my Edge in to be customized.) I noticed an even better change switching to the custom tunes over the Edge. SCT is pretty popular with speed shops to do custom tuning so its a good option for the future. I left the Edge on the dash as a monitor.
