1990 Trans plug keeps blowing out???
Hey all. I spend most my time in the Superduty and diesel forums, but a friend is having an issue with their 1990 ranger transmission. There are 2 plugs on the right front side on the transmission. The front-most plug keeps blowing the snap ring out of its groove???? I have no idea what is behind this plug?? They have replaced the snap-ring that retains this plug. The trans case seems to be in decent shape. The cap has probably seen better days. This has happened 3 times from what Im told. Has anyone ever heard of or seen this problem? And if so, what was done to correct it?
