Scan Gauge II

After reading another thread on these and not wanting to hijack the thread, I have a couple of questions.

Do I simple plug this into the computer? No probes needed for coolant temp etc.

It will give me all these readings from the computer plug: <table border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr> <td>DIGITAL GAUGES</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top">Display 4 gauges at a time from the 12 built-in digital gauges. the information is presented in Real-time! </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top">
  • Fuel Economy
  • Fuel Rate
  • Battery Voltage
  • Coolant Temperature
  • Intake Air Temperature
  • Engine Speed (RPM)
  • Vehicle speed (MPH)
  • Manifold Pressure (not available on some vehicles)
  • Engine Load
  • Throttle Position
  • Ignition Timing
  • Open/Closed Loop

The price is only $169? That is less than a tranny temp guage.

My X does not have the overhead display. It looks like this would give me all the info I need.

This seems like no brainer. Even if the MPG are off, it should still tell me my best towing speed for MPG, correct? That could pay for itself in one 1,500 mile trip.
</td></tr></tbody></table>

Yes, it plugs into the OBD port located at the bottom of the dash below the steering wheel.

You can also add "extra guages". The X-guages are programmable options, such as tranny temps, converter speed ratio (to see when your TC is locked), Horsepower, Torque etc.

Well worth the money!

The MPG is "tunable" to your inputs. I think I touched on that in the other active thread.

You're new. My signatures always have something to do with a cat. It's kinda as if my avatar is saying it.

Don't worry, I have 4 cats and I do not hit them with a hammer. In fact, it should be known that I LOVE cats...I just can't eat a whole one.

I installed a Scan Gauge II a month or so ago and works great. I used the X gauge feature to display Trans Fluid Temp and Cylinder Head Temp, pics in my 05 LTD V10 Excursion Album.
