hello, my alt. was starting to make some bearing noiese so i pulled it and took it to the local auto elect. shop and he said to go with the 100 amp. since i had a camper on it and pull things behind me, he said the stock one from ford is 70 amp. and is this going to be alright. thanks for any help on this, i have not seen any glowing red smoking wires yet.and what is that flat metal piece that bolts on a post next to the other two wires for.
Not sure about the metal piece but I have always run the 100 amp on mine more power to jump off dead dodges and trucks.
If your jumping "OFF OF" Dodges there must be something wrong with your fancy 100 AMP Ford alternator, it's not keeping your batteries charged.
It does make sense that someone would come along in a "dead" Dodge and rescue you though. We're a pretty nice bunch of guys with REALLY reliable trucks.
Just goes to show that even a Dodge that looks "dead" can still save a Ford!
The only to jump off of a dodge is to climb up on a cab, its no fun jumping off the bed because most people don't waste there blocks when they sell there tires to some guy that has a ford and can use them. So they are setting on the ground.

AH, I got you!
I'm like a vulture sitting on my computer waiting to pounce on one of your posts that's worded wrong.
My breath might be as bad as a vulture sometimes too. (Just thought I'd take that one away from you)
Yea I screwed that up maybe you get a point being as I have only the given green mark I don't think we are supposed to give reps for winning the smartarse contest.
Or maybe I just haven't reached a hundred red reps yet.
Not working much lately so what else is more fun than pouncing, I did take a break and went to the sportsman show yesterday, and next weekend is the gun show can't miss that.
Then I could give MYSELF rep points AND also go up to the PowerStroke forum and have those guys "rep the snot out of me".
Then figure out how to "hack into the system" and transfer all of the points over to Dodge/Cummins!
Go for it if you go to the club that has probably already happened. And on another forum I hang out on there is a thread about the people using more than one name.
OK, I come on here almost everyday but if I get that hung up on being "COOL" to people I have never met in person I have a SERIOUS problem.
Of course in addition to the OTHER problems I already have.
Theres a few on here I would like to meet and probably will someday.
I met one from another forum yesterday at the sportsman show.
Did they wan't to meet you too, or did you kind of ambush them?
Lord I appologise for that one, and please be with the starving Pygmies down in New Guinea, Amen.
Actually I've met a couple of guys off of here and they SEEMED genuinely glad to meet me. Now that I think about it though I haven't seen them since...........hmmmmm......
Maybe I'm not as cool as I THINK I am?
Nah, that CAN'T be it.
Well I've gone about as far as I'm comfortable with while trying to pi$$ you off so I guess I'll go to bed.
I have to work on a Jeep tomorrow, crappy Dana 35 is so noisy now that I'm SURE it's going to give up the ghost soon. It's only had about 40K miles on it since it started getting loud.
