Door Mirrow

I'm hoping someone will help with my dumb question for today. How is the mirrows removed for the doors? I have removed two nuts but their is an plastic nut with four wings in the middle and I have broken one of the wings on it already. It seems to be on there tight. Its on a 2001 F-350. Thanks

There are 2 more nuts hidden behind what appears to be foam tape. Pull off the tape to reveal the other 2 nuts.

Tip: roll down the window before you remove the mirror and keep a hand on it before you remove it. They can be heavy.

Now that I think of it, Eurekaboy may say this, but it's worth repeating.
