Hi, I have have a problem with my rear air suspension on my '01 Expedition 4x2 XLT. Maybe once or twice a week (at most) i would come out to get in my car early in the morning and the rear end would be all the way down. First time i saw it i was thinking the airbags we gone but once i start up the car it raises right back up with no problems and i can't hear any leaks.
It doesn't happen everyday so i'm wondering if you would know what is the problem before i bring it to the stealership.
Possibly the union in the master cylinder area or a faulty height sensor.
If you want to try 'em, I have a brand new connector I got from Ford as spare and a tested working height sensor. PM me if interested and I'll let it go of both for reasonable price of $39 conus/shipped/ppl - that's possibly less than half the diagnostics cost at the dealership and you'll have spare at the very least. Let me know: orleec at yahoo dot com. Thnx

Check your air bags them selfs,I just replace both of mine on a 99 and the driver side bag was down to the cords .This is with 147k on the vehical and 2wheel drive. It would leak down slowly then was every night. It would raise like normal but compressor would run off and on more. CAUTION!! I almost lost my arm for very STUPID mistake not supporting the body with a jack when releasing the air lines. PLEASE BE CAREFULL!!
