double din

I'm looking to up grade the factory stereo on my 2006 E 150, I thought this is considered a double din unit, but according to Crutchfield a double din unit won't fit. Any of you guys installed a double din in one of these?

Is your current radio 2" tall or 4" tall. The 4" one is double din. My 08 is double din.
