Occasional odd problem

This is a new one to me trying to come up with possible causes. While driving down the road the the truck is fine most of the time. However occasionally when pulling up a minor hill and you step into it, it does nothing. Not pulling any load simply stays at the output level its prenetly at, secondly if you get into it hard it will often times sputter, like it running out of fuel til it levels out. Note: the tanks are full, the fuel filter was changed about 1 month ago approx 750 miles on it. and you can hear no significant change in the turbo no additional spool up, or loss. Changed out the fuel lines on the back of the filter housing to the pump a week ago, to fix the fuel leak there, however there is still a minor amount of fuel in the valley very minor compared to what was leaking between the pump and filter housing. Have yet to determine the origin of that leak since its so minor- open to suggestions on that too. Any ideas would be helpful try to get this back in shape to be able to pull my trailer this year when we take down the dually to have the tranny rebuilt.

Is this a sign of a CPS getting ready to bite it?

Have you checked your fuel pressure? The leak could be your fuel pump itself. Ive replaced 2 in the past year and a half. CPS more feels like the truck hesitates or dies for a second or two then will come back and when its shot truck wont start.
Good Luck

Update. The fuel is leaking from the IPR sensor on the fuel bowl, took the shim out to see if that was causing an ovepressure issue as when I installed it, it was reading in the high 80's. Thought Id check the CPS just in case, good thing I had a new one as a spare, the old black one was so dry rotted it literly crumbled in my hands trying to turn it, I think that might explain a bit. Havent had time to run it enought o determine if that fixed it though. But it does seem to run smoother now.
