85 Ranger
But first, I posted about this in the drivetrain threads and am still stuck, tho I've learned quite a bit.
I was reading in another thread here in the Ranger section about how to bleed the system on a 99, and maybe a 93? but is it the same on my 85.
2.8 V6, 5 speed TK, I've replaced the clutch assembly, master cylinder, and been reading and learning what a bummer it is to bleed sometimes.
But, when installing the new clutch, the release bearing had a note with it about making sure to remove all 3 pieces of the old bearing, and then install the new 2 piece design. Over all the length and diameter are the same but my clutch will not engage, still has pressure on the pressure plate. I can start the engine and just put it in gear without touching the pedal.
I've lost track with how much fluid I've run thru it trying to bleed it, get what feels to be a good pedal but no results.
I know the slave drive could be hanging or have a bunch of sludge like the old master cylinder did. I have to take the tranny completly out to get to the slave drive on this one, no inspection plate I can eyeball thru to see whats happeneing.
Any idear on how to be certain it's the slave drive and not just still needing more bleeding?
