yup another Gp thread. well i bought a new controller a few weeks ago, installed it and 6 new gp's ( havnt been able to get to the other two yet ) and there was no wait to start light and the injection pump wasnt even pumping. there is no power getting to it. there is power to my controller, the wait to start light is not burnt out ( i tested it ). so i bought a solenoid only( Napa, $13, exactly the same as the one on the controller from appearence) and replaced that. same problem. i found a wiring diagram on thedieselstop.com and i have it hooked up right. WTF. i also used a jump wire and connected the two large posts and still no WTS light . i have another controller but i dont want to hook it up and pay the $300 that i dont really have. im going wait till i get some feedback from you guys before i go any further.
There is a kinda squire connecter in the wireing harness on the passenger fenderwell that is famous for corroding and melting, causing these kind of problems.
Seems like it is about a foot towards the cab from where your solonoid is mounted and is usually gray.
i looked for that connector and i couldnt find it anywhere. there is only one connector between the glow plug relay and the fuse box on the drivers wheelwell. i also put on the new glow plug relay, same crap. I can turn the truck over so would that still be a ignition problem? this is really frustrating and everyone i've talk to is stumped.
