Knock in cat
my truck has 73,000 miles on it when I start my truck in the morning, I get a knock sound. My oil pressure is great and there is no loss of power. I put my ear up to the cat this morning and the knock is very loud there. when the truck gets up to temp it quiets down. after work when its warm oustside on first star up the knock is there but not as loud then goes away in a few minutes. oil is new, has anyone had this noise from a cat before? I'm thinking the honeycomb is loose and when it expands the noise goes away....any thoughts?

I just had to cut both of my cat's on my supercoupe open and take the BS out. I thought I was going to pull the trans on the car the noise was so bad. It was just that honey comb stuff bouncing around the converter. It does run much much better now, plus it's quiet.
