NP435 help!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-Nov-02 AT 11:21 AM (EST)]I have an NP435 from a '78 1/2ton. The guy I got it from cut the shifter off to remove it from the truck. I took the top off the tranny to have the shifter welded back together at a shop. While they had it I think they jarred the shifter loose from the linkage inside. Nothing appears to be broke but I need an exploded picture or link with one so I can put it back together. Can anyone help out?
Also how do I get the shifter out of the tower?

NP435 help!
There's a stamped metal cap inside the tower that the shifter shaft goes thru. It has an oval slot for the shifter to move around in. Push that cap down & roatate CCW, then allow it to spring up & the shifter will come up & out. You probably just didn't get the end of the shifter back into the forks when you reinstalled the top.
