Talking ex manifold

Here's the deal.I'm putting a 1990 5.0 into my 1985 f150.
The pass side ex manifold studs(ones from manfoild to pipe) have weld rusdted to the manfoild ' have tryed every tricke I know and still can't remove them (manfoild is off pipe and motor)
I have another 5.0 out of a towncar I think. Took it off the motor and set them up side by side and other than a coulble casting marks I can see any thing diff in the two(numbers are diff on both manfoild)
I have ck them with a tape and every thing matchs
So does anyone know why the towncar ex manifold would not work on the 5.0 f150
Thanks Phil <!-- / message --><!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_sig --><!-- END TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_sig -->

I will let someone else answer the manifolds being the same question, but some ideas to get the bolt out is,

heat it with a torch,
soak it with penetrting fluid,
cut the head off so that the manifold comes off, then focus on getting th bolt out (can then weld a nut back to what is left of the bolt and in 99% of the times I have done it, they come out because they are no longer in a clamping force like when it was securing the manifold.)

maybe give the bolt a few shots from a large hammer taking caution not to bend the head up to maybe loosen it some.

Worst case scenario is you drill it out and retap the hole. Unless you drill into it and try an easy out which snaps off and now you have to drill through that as well, but it's harder metal and chews up numerous drill bits before you reach your required depth. That sucked.

I have never tried this but I was told by an ol'timer that you can fracture a broken easyout and take it out piece by piece.

I've been lucky and have never broken an easyout... I always give up before it breaks and take the next step.

I have broken hundreds and hundreds of taps though and fractured them out! 1/2-13's on the flight deck of an Aircraft Carrier. Using a tapping head on a mag drill.
