Hi. My ATC started acting up today on my 2005 F250. It will only blow out of the front defrost vents. All the buttons and display work fine, A/C blows cold and fan adjusts properly to temp control, but it only blows out of the defroster vents. I've turned the ATC on and off, pushed all the buttons, and it just won't change to any of the other vents. Another weird thing is it takes a few seconds longer than usual for the fan to turn on once I hit any button to turn it on, as if it is trying to go to the selected vent but defaults to the defroster vent. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm sure other regulars here could give you better info, but in the research I've been doing for my issue, I've seen similar issues to yours. Most of which ended up being a vacuum hose leak, under the hood. And I believe the defrost is the default vent when there's not enough pressure to switch to the right vent (because of the vacuum leak). I'm sure others will chime in if I'm wrong. Good Luck.

I was thinking it was a vacuum leak as well but didn't know where to start looking. Thanks for that info.
Vacuum leak or the vacuum motor is shot. Common leak points are the 4x4 vacuum switch if you have 4x4 naturally or the 4x4 hubs or hoses to the hubs. Diesel electric vacuum pumps are common to burn up due to leaks and not being able to shut down. They also had a bad run of pumps around your model year. Also check the fuse for power to the vacuum pump. Models with a water control valve also commonly have the hose to the valve get knocked off by oil changers.
