Filter Change ?
Hey everyone, i hate to sound real dumb here, but i am draining tranny (M5OD) to replace with new fluid. It has never been changed in the life of the truck (i think). Is the a filter in the M5OD tranny and if the is is it hard to change? Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know of a filter in manual transmissions.... For my dad's M5OD we just drained all of the fluid out and filled it back with Mercon ATF per Ford's requirements. Hope this helps, and if anyone knows otherwise, please correct me.

Thanks for the info. I did not think there was a filter on my M5OD either. there is no pan and access plates on it when i was underneath the truck last. I was checking as my chiltons manual does not mention one, and i have an upcoming drivetrain fluid changeout. both diffs, tranny and transfer case.
