Clunk in rear end

I am getting a pretty good clunk in the rear end whenever I back up, shift to drive and then pull forward (out of driveway, out of parking spot). It does not happen everytime and seems to happen more often when the truck is cold.

Anyone else experiencing this or have ideas? Is it something I should get checked?

Maybe you need to lube the slip yoke on your driveshaft?

Definately the slip yoke. Ford has a TSB out on it.

Also check your axle u bolts....Mine caused this same noise twice.

While you are under there lubing the slip yoke, check your u-joints. They came make a pretty good clunk when they are about to go out.
