Unusual part request

Hey guys, wondering if any of you have a spare part for me. I need the latch stud in the doorframe that latches the door closed. The plastic bushing on the stud has broken off my driver side door latch, and so the door does not always close properly any more. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Chad,
I looked for a new bushing a few years ago and none of the normal suppliers carried them. I thought that was odd considering how common the wear and tear is on the part. So I made my own bushing.

I took a piece white plastic pipe. Typical plumbing stuff from any hardeware store. I cut it to length, then cut a diagonal slit in it. Cut off the old bushing , build up the diameter of the post with some tape then coax the pipe section over the tape. The fix lasts a couple of years before you notice any wear. Now , if your hinge pins/bushing are shot it will wear the post bushing in no time.

Not quite the stuff for a Red Green episode but almost .

Ford never sold the plastic sleeve (bushing) by itself. Y'all can't find any because Ford made the striker so it could not be replaced.

D2AZ6522008A .. Striker Plate / Fits: 1973/79 F100/350 / 1978/79 Bronco / Back doors on 1975/86 Econolines.

This striker plate is EASY to find for two reasons:

1) It's still available from Ford.

MSRP: $18.05 // FTEpartsguy.com price: $13.00.

2) It also fits:

1972/82 FORD: Galaxie/LTD/Crown Vic/Torino/Pinto/Mustang/Granada/Maverick/Thunderbird/LTD II.

1972/82 MERCURY: Marquis/Grand Marquis/Montego/Comet/Cougar/Bobcat.

1972/82 LINCOLN: Town Car/Versailles/Mark IV, V, VI.

Front AND rear doors. Remove from the rear doors, it won't have as much wear.
