So is your compressor actually there (its on the driver side above the power steering pump), I'm just not understanding "missing". Its probably all out of freon as well, so your gonna need a retrofit kit (unless a PO already done it) and retrofit it to R134a, they're only 40 bucks or so at O'reillies.

I hope the lines were capped off when the compressor was removed, if not you may need more than a compressor and dryer.

Its gonna be in your best bet to go to the Jyard and find a truck (any 80-86, or up to 92 diesel with v belts) will work and get everything you can remove. Just make sure the compressor isn't locked up when you get one. (you should be able to spin it by hand)

When I was younger air didn't matter to me but now if I lived anywhere east of west texas I would have the air working. West of texas I don't even turn it on sometimes.

So *ANY* A/C compressor from a gasser '80-86, '87-91 will fit our IDI diesels? I see a lot of used AC compressors cheap, we need our AC here in Florida.

Please let me know if it's true I can use any ol' AC compressor off an F150 4.9/5.0/5.8 - it'll be a LOT easier than finding a diesel-specific AC compressor.

I believe so IF its mounted the same way, the PS pump on my 88 is off of my 87 F150 302 EFI, and looking at my 88 I could put the AC pump on my 80 F100 300 I6 would work.

After installing mine, i noticed NO mpg loss... Its still showing 16.9 hwy running..... A/C The Best thing since sliced bread and the diesel engine
