Help w/ decision

I am getting a truck (1996 F-150) but the guy i'm buying it from said the speakers were blown so he bought some cheap walmart speakers that sit on the dash and they blowww. So, i'm going to replace the stock speakers and probably get a sub since it's an ext cab. All in all i'm not looking to spend anymore than $500.00 Less would be great if possible. So, my first question is: should I buy the speakers new like from best buy or should I buy them used off of craigslist? My second question is when I was at best buy asking what speakers to get to replace my stock speakers he was suggesting that I buy a amp for the door speakers as well because with the stock i'm getting about 20wats and with the amp with the new speakers i'd be getting about 120ish. Is that true? Is buying the amp worth it? (Especially if I buy it used, bc I can find a 250 watt amp for $20.00 no problem) And what are some of the top brands/things I should look for? I will be replacing the door speakers first and then depending on how much that cost then MAYBE getting a sub, it just depends on how much I spend on the door speakers. Thanks, Tyler.
