I have a '93 F150 that I have recently replaced the clutch and slave cylinder. Instead of using ATF I used 80W lube. After a short while I started leaking fluid. It was suggested that the 80W might have been building up too much pressure and bleeding past the gaskets. I have switched back to ATF. It was still leaking fluid. It was toward the rear but I could not see where it was actually coming from. I finally wiped it all down and put the truck on stands and let it run a while in gear. Finally I saw where the leak was coming from which leads to my question. The fluid appears to be coming out of rubber caps on the top and rear of the transmission. There are three right in a row. What are these for? And what would make them leak now? Do I have too much fluid in the transmission? I filled it to the fill hole. I have a Haynes manual but it's of no help in describing what these are for. I appreciate any insight that anyone can give me.

Thanks for the response and the info.:-) That hit the nail right on the head! I wish I would have known about that when I had the transmission out! The Haynes manual did not mention it at all. Thanks again.
