i dont run a cat on my 96 xlt .2.3 5 speed .i built a off road exhaust and my cat was clogged so i took it out.i keep getting trouble codes.i was told that if i got a rear 02 sensor eliminator it would fix the problem.where do i find one .bbk says it has stopped selling the part #1675.i dont want to put in another cat.
Alot of the ford performance sites use to sell them like focus sport I belive it was. It was called a mill eliminator. There hard to find now has they became illegal. At least thats the way it stood when I still had my focus and later my mustang gt. I can't remember the sites that had offered them as it's been a while. However the ones that were offered were for the duratec engines and not the lima, I don't no if that makes a difference. I would say your better off putting the cat back on and you will be legal. You could try the focus forums like focaljet or focus fanatics and ask there.
O2 sensors are deemed illegal in the United States. The companies that made them were forced to replace all the eliminators they sold with real O2 sensors and pay the tamperin fines, which of course they couldn't afford to do, so they just went belly up instead.
Put on a cat, your engine will produce more torque if you do.
Thanks Bear, I know there was a problem at the time getting one as they became illegal. A lot of guy's were flaming on the sites because of it. I didn't know if they ever got a round it, or it remained an illegal product.
