I am new here, but not new to wrenching or Ford Trucks. I have been very active on a diesel website for my Dodge with the Cummins, but now I bought this truck as a restoration project..
I need a few misc. parts and what knots to get this thing going. I want to be done with it in about a year. It has a I-6 300, 4 speed manual, NP 205 transcase as well. 4x4
Plans are to restore the inside to like new condition, swap the 6 cyl for a 351W like I had in my truck in high school. Also, this truck is the same year and all like the one I had in high school.. Which was the reason to buy it, plus when it rains the roads out agian, my wife can get to work, as her car does like the roads since we moved.
I needs to following parts and if you have a part I need, please feel free to PM or email me and if the price is descent I will be glad to buy and pay for shipping. ALso, I have an LMC mag coming to help with the things not available at my local junk yard.
Parts Needed:
dash pad
interior door panel (driver side) colors do not matter as I will have the entire inside vinyle refinished at my local auto body shop..
driver door handle
driver window handle
tailgate (prolly junk yard here unless someone is within a 100 miles so I can pick it up)
winshield (same as tailgate or will just buy from glass company when I get that far along)
Interior sun visors.
PM a guy named Uncle Stosh he goes to the junk yards almost every day and will prolly have everything you need in his garage and he usually makes people pretty good deals even shipped.
Yep, I have or can get tons of parts for these trucks.
Would be nice to know where you live though!
It says where I live on the right side of my posts, but I live in Millwood, Ga 31552. It is a bump in the road and the place where all of my parts are mailed is actually Waycross, GA 31503.
I need that center radio besel, and the previous owner had a CD player in it. He done some wierd stuff to make it work, which it does not now anyway, but does anyone know a website where I can get the fillers for the CD player. I think I can get this one working...
And I have to wait until 25 posts in order to have a signature. I will get that accomplished today.., Somehow.. haha
I have (2) 10x20 storage units and my basement FULL of parts and access to hundreds of 80/86 F-Series and Broncos.
There are about 15 different instrument cluster and radio bezel combos.
Be specific with your needs and pics would help. I have almost every bezel combo ever offered.
Okay Stosh, It will have to be late this afternoon on the pictures of the instrument clusters. I only use a computer at work, because I am on it all day drafting mobile homes. But when I come back to town tonight to help with the youth at church, I will stop by and post pics of the dash and interior.
E Bay Motors and Craigs List have been pretty good for me. About a year ago I found a junkyard about 6 miles from me with about 2 to 3 hundred old trucks of all makes. You would be surprised where you will find junk yards, at least in NC.
See junkyards are pretty much worthless for me (Indiana) because everything is so well picked over and the stuff that is over 15 years old is usually crushed so its really hard to find trucks in them and if you do they are usually rusted to no end or beat to hell so bad you cant pull any worthwhile parts off of them.
