Which is nicer?

I finally talked the wife into a truck so now I'm looking into a newer F150 S-crew for when my Caravan finally dies. She tried getting me to look at the 08 Ram CC since her dad retired from Chrysler, but thats not happening. But I don't know if the 09's are that much better comfort and mechanical wise than the 07 style, but I do know the 6 passenger would be perfect in either model. Also, does an atv fit in the back of the 5.5' bed with no problems?

Haha. ^^^^This will start some arguments.

The short, unbiased answer is that you will have more room in the '09. The CC on the '09 is 6 inches longer than the '04-'08. Just go check them out for yourself, and you be the judge if one is more comfortable.

Mechanical wise, the biggest difference between the '04-'08 and the '09 is the new 6 speed transmission. It has a much lower first gear and two overdrives. Drive one of each, and you will see the difference.

The ATV will fit in the 5.5 foot bed, but you will have to leave the tailgate down. I've done thousands of miles of hauling in multiple trucks with the tailgate down without any issues.

I did not know about the new 6 speed. That would help out with city driving when needed as well. I've been looking around and found out the ext cab is also a 6 passenger, but looks like the back seat would suck for longer trips. Guess I will have to visit the dealership soon as it stops raining here.

Its an older Polaris 500 Sportsman, so pretty much the one posted there. Then the 6.5' bed would be the way to go more than likely. It will definitely take some getting used to driving something that size. I looked at fuel ratings compared to the Tundra and Titan, and the F150 4x4 is getting the same or better rating than both of the 2wd versions from the imports, figure that one out.
And thanks for the help so far.

Such a great movie lol

I like these quotes lol Wanna watch it now. The whole fim is just wicked quotes.

the older polaris's are a little shorter, but yeah, 6 1/2 would be the best way. i used to put it in my 05 with the 6 1/2 ft bed and the rear wheels sat right on the crease of the bed and tailgate

Quad question

I had a 2002 F 350 SD SC with a 6.5' bed and I could fit my 2008 Kawasaki Brute Force 650I in the bed and close the tailgate. I now have a 2009 FX4 SC with a 6.5' bed and I can't close the tailgate. I advise taking measurements.

The SD bed is actually 6.75 ft, which would probably explain that. But yes, measurements would definitely be a good thing when there is $40,000 on the line. One thing that always turned me off of a Dodge is that their bed is only 6.25 feet.

i also had a 650i brute before the polaris and i could shut my tailgate on my 04 with the 6 1/2ft bed when it was stock. then i put 28in outlaws on it and had to leave the tailgate down. my polaris is just about 6ft from front of front tire to back of rear tire.
