I need to run some wiring for my new backup camera that I'm mounting on my visor, and I'd like to tuck it under the trim on the windshield (A-Pillar?) pillar. I'm just wondering if this just pops off? It has a handle on it also, that I'm assuming will have to come off first.
There's a post on here somewhere about adding the pillar guages. It gives detailed instructions on removing the pillar. The handle needs to be removed then if I remember right there's a couple more screws under that too.
On the 09 there are two screws that go from inside the trim out into the soft part of the handle. This looks to be a pre-assembly method of keeping the trim and handle together. So if you unbolt the handle, it is still screwed to the trim. You can pull the handle free since the small screws will just pull out of the handle foam. Normally you would unbolt the handle, then work the trim off, taking the handle with it. There is only one clip holding the trim in place since it tucks behind the rubber molding and the handle bolts hold everything secure.
