Fuel Issue (Problem #2)
After getting my ignition issue fixed, I have moved on to problem number two. Was not getting fuel to the carb, and removed the in line to the pump, cranked over, felt no suction, so assumed the pump was bad. Replaced it, but still couldn't get fuel to the pump. So I sucked on the line, and all it did was create a vacuum,no fuel came out. Using an aux gas can, I got the engine running (sort of, and of which problem #3 will be addressed later), so that issue is solved. Cranked up the air compressor, blew back through the line, and all that did was blow a rubber hose in the rear area at the rear tank. I tried switching to the front tank via the selector, but got the same result. I read in my Haynes book that the selector valve is spring-loaded to the rear tank, and I never heard any kind of switching near the valve area. I assume my tank is clogged somewhere down the line, but shouldn't I hear the valve switch between tanks? I checked the fuse and it was good. Are these valves and related parts hard to get to find out where the clog might be?
