My truck has never seen salt and i am going to rip it off tomorrow and sand blast and paint before it develops pin holes. It is the only thing that is rusty under there except the drive shaft.

dito: plus they are finned and will cool faster and stay cooler. Just remember if you go this route you will need new longer bolts. The alum cover is a little thicker in the mounting area that the bolts go thru.
yeah mine rusted through i replaces with the 08 alumnium cover and on top of the good price and all the other previously mentioned facts it looks real sweet! plus they are a breeze to change.

I guess I have a guilty consciense now because I was not dissing him by recommending the other link (not that you're accusing me of anything), it's just that the other site provides a nice set of corrosion resistant bolts with hex heads in lieu of the OEM variety. Maybe Ed has a nice set of bolts like this now, too...
