Need some advise.....

I have a 95 f150 4x4 ,351, 138000 miles with a e40d. My father was the original owner of the truck. He changed all fluids as you are supposed to.
I had the transmisson serviced by a bozo down the street. Well it started leaking around the gasket. Bozo said the trans needed to be rebuilt. I said bull####, because this thing has never dripped a drop of anything from the trans til bozo looked at it. So I took it to another place to have it looked at to make sure its okay. This other guy checked it out and said the trans was absolutely clean inside, it couldnt be in better shape..... Well I get it home and it leaks, from it looks like the gasket again........ By the way it shifts fine in every gear, and works just like the first day it was brought home.... But it leaks, but not as bad as it did after bozo looked at it. It doesnt leak that much that you cant drive it. It just leaves a small puddle on the driveway.
My questions to you guys is. Do you think I have a major problem with my transmission? Do you think the first guy that looked at it was right and it needs a rebuild? Does it sound like I'am getting bs from both of these garages? I have a camper that is 4000 lbs, if I keep a eye on the fluid level should it be alright to pull with it?

Thanks,
Dean

Sounds like the first guy warped or bent the transmission pan.

like subford said its easy to bend or warp the pan, you could also have a stripped pan bolt thread since some people like to torque the bolts down way to hard into the cast aluminum and end up messing up the threads. id say just find out where the leak is coming from and fix the leak and youll have no problems. from what you stated it sounds like nothing major so dont be worried that you need a rebuild or something like that.

a good rule is never to take vehicle to a shop where bozo is working.

loosen the bolts in the pan, and then retighten them the proper way and she just might quit leaking.

i would drop the pan, make sure pan edges are flat and clean of old gasket, and i would use a new gasket.

tighten in the correct sequence to the proper torque setting.
