Stuck in gear
My 66 f100 with a 351w and three on tree is stuck in 1st gear. Stopped after a 5 mile drive and when i restarted the truck it wouldnt come out of first. more than likely the bushings on the shift rods are worn out or missing..... try to free it at the tranny levers from under the truck, AND make sure the Ebrake is *ON* before you go under it, My 63 econoline used to hang up ALL the time, almost ran myself over once when it came free on an incline.

At the bottom of the steering column under the hood are the two manual control selector levers where the shift rods from the transmission attach.
In each one of these levers is one rubber bushing and insulator. When the rubber bushings crack apart, the shift lever binds up.

This is a very common problem that affects all 1965/79 F100/350's. The same kit fits all these trucks.
