FRONT SPIDER GEAR WELDING?????????????

FRONT SPIDER GEAR WELDING?????????????
you could not steer at all on any kind of decently hard surface. not on pavement for sure, or even on packed dirt, etc. in mud or soft ground you would probably slide more than you would steer. i would not even consider it, lockers up front at least unlock when you try to turn.
FRONT SPIDER GEAR WELDING?????????????
its not bad if your short on cash and you dont mind getting out and unlocking one hub to turn. I usually run with one hub locked till it gets nasty then get out and lock up. I have a front detroit in the near future im gonna put in there, but i figured i would give it a try. Also be prepeared to break more axle shafts
FRONT SPIDER GEAR WELDING?????????????
It shouldn't hurt anything if you have manual hub locks - just run 3WD if you have to do it on-road (snow, ice). The steering may pull a little to the locked side, but it'll be better than 2WD. Off-road, it'll be fine.
I put a spool in the front of mine, it locks both axles together same as welding. I would not do it again, it does not steer even on dirt roads, it's only good for mud or total slop. I would put a detroit, or some type of limited slip if I had it to do again.
