Should work, bellhousing is the same. The only thing to watch out for is which trans is in the '89. There were 2 transmissions available in '89 behind the 2.9l. The Mazda M5OD R1, and the Mitsubishi FM146. Look at the bottom of the trans body, if it has a removable pan it's the Mitsu. If it's a 1-peice body with no pan, it's the Mazda. The '94 will have the Mazda. Supposedly they will interchange, but sticking with the same family will keep you from having all those annoying little interchange hangups.

time fly scory about the time delay im ben besy and thanks for the inpout but ive been having other problms with this truck at thes time so the trans will hav to weat. i probly shod fine a thuck with a 4.0 in to get the trans out of becous ti's get work hard
