leaky dip stick
well i have been working on a 85 f-150 with the 5.8 lt in it and i noticed the other day that the carb was lil loose and blew the gaskets out. so i went and got some new ones. one thing that had me a lil concerned was that when the motor was running it was blowing out super hot air out where it blew it the gasket, kinda like and exhaust leak on the exhaust but it was between the carb spacer and intake manifold. is this normal or does this mean some thing bad? cause also my other problem is when driving down the high way its like im getting compression in the oil pan cause i get oil blowing out of the dip stick onto the motor and of course smokey going down the high way, and oil all over the driver side engine bay. and help would be appriciated

Hello, the hot air sounds like the "warm up passage" across the intake, egr system,etc. As for the preasure in the crank case, make sure pcv sytem is working, check for vaccum to the valve and make sure vale is working. Also make sure vent in other valve cover is clear, clean filter,etc. That is where I would start, Mike

had the oil coming out of dipstick tube issue once in a 84 tempo.bad rings lots of blow buy. like IrishBusDriver said check the pcv valve and hoses.if it's not functioning properly the crankcase will build pressure causing oil to come out of dipstick tube.
