Dual Steering Stab. Question?

this is probably a stupid question but, im looking at Dual Steering Stab's for my F250 and I was wondering when you install a dual kit do you keep the stock on? or take it off? or doesnt it matter? Probably going to get the Skyjacker Kit, like 130 bucks. I dont need anything Expensive, just something better than the stock POS. Thanks in Advance.

thats what I was thinking, but on the Skyjacker Install Instructions they show the truck having the dual kit and a heavy duty single in the stock location... confused me a bit.

Here is my album where you can see my set-up for the skkyjacker:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...pictureid=5415

I left the factory one on as it is not in the way and would serve no purpose for the effort required to take it off.

Click next on my album and I think the last pic shows the tire from a side view. That is all I have in there right now.

I like the tires.

I would remove the stock steering stabilizer just because it is dead weight... just kidding.

Using hydraulic shocks it doesn't really matter....just more drag. But due to the location I would remove it, can cause feedback through the steering wheel when the suspension cycles.

Using nitrogen charged shocks you should definitely toss it in the trash.

I went the same route and it was simple install. You take the old one off and the stock house is like a squared off C, you cut the bottom half off so that the top of the C can hold the passanger side shock. If you would like pics i could post some

IMO having looked at both I went with the Rough Country Dual kit (87491) for my 06. I think the RC has higher quality mounting brackets than the Skyjacker but can't comment on the shocks. The RC shocks have a tough powder coat finish, not sure on the Skyjackers.
Bought my kit from 4wheelingplus.com for $97 with the boots and shipping. Here is a pic from Truck toyz perf.

4wheelingplus.com is the least expensive. The only draw back (if at all a concern) is they will only ship to the same address as your credit card is drawn on (meaning they won't send to a buisness if your card is on your resident address).

When purchasing it, it won't show the dual or won't list as the dual. Just the p/n 87491 will be adequate.

not a problem with the Card, it showed a dual setup in the pic on a 05-07 style SuperDuty. as long as its a Dual Kit when it arrives at the door lol.

FWIW, nitrogen charged stabilizer shocks will make a bigger improvement.......I've run them both on the same truck for comparison.
