Turbo Question
Sorry if this is stupid question! I have modified a simple ram air intake and am not sure where I am most effective. If I am hearing more of a whistle, does that mean I am getting more or less air to the turbo. It seems to have a little more power when I have my setup with less of a whistle, but EGT does not seem to differ either way. Experts please chime in. Sorry, I have a 87 6.9 with a Banks Sidewinder, K&N filter and 3" exhaust.

A boost pressure gauge is about the only way to know.
Is your turbo wastegated?
If it is the high boost will not change.
But the difference will be where and how much boost you see at lower RPM if your ram air is doing a good job.
