Anybody heard from tacson (Donald) over the weekend? I think there were tornadoes in Murfreesboro the other day. I'm praying for the victims. Donald may be busy with more important things right now or might be without power.I hope he will let us know that he is ok very soon.Thanks.
I just found a response from tacson in another thread. Glad to know you're ok Donald. And , I did not see any 56 doors at the autofair last week. I saw 3 or 4 pairs of 53-55 doors, but no 56s.I will keep watching , though. It's hard to find 56 trucks and parts here because a young man I knew that lived a couple of miles from me bought every 56 truck he could find for several years. He had quite a collection . He died in a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago and his trucks and parts dissappeared soon afterwards.I think I just hijacked my own thread.Again, I'm glad you're ok.
thomc---yes 56 parts are hard to find. I have almost 10 trucks now.....but have 2 sets of spare doors. I think they do need bottoms though. I found a nice set in Georgia..but will use them on my diesel56.
I will keep my eyes open for you. I always look for 56s and have 4 more in Florida. LOL
Bill
Thanks Bill.Actually tacson was the one looking for a pair of 56 doors. I had told him I would watch for some at the Food Lion Autofair last week. thanks
Thomc,
Yeah we are fine. Appreciate you asking. The tornado hit about 1.5 mile from my place. No damage to my place or family. thanks for asking. I head Charlotte was a little light this year. Thanks for looking for the doors. I thought I had a lead on a F600 cab 20 miles from the house in a old salvage yard. Went back to look and he roof was rusted out. Oh well I will keep looking
We had tornados yesterday evening but no damage. Don, I have not had a chance to check on the f300 that is close to the shop but it is still there, from about 15 foot the doors looked solid, decent fenders, great straight hood, and near perfect grill. I have been up on the truck yet but I will check on it this weekend if I get a free moment.

Hey Donald, are you building a '56? Thats so cool dude. There was a guy who came in our shop yesterday and told me about a '56 he sold a few years ago. He saw pics of mine on my tool box and started tellin me about it. Anyway he sold a '56 BW F100 for $125 a couple of years go. Of course I was slobering after he told me this and wishing I could have bought it for that. Good luck on doors, I need a set myself, mine on my Pegysu are in terrible shape and starting to show rust bubbles now.
Yeah Terry I would like to. I have everything sheetmetal wise except a cab with doors, bed, right rear fender and a frame. I could have and should bought this one but I let my buddy get the deal. Look to the left in this pic see how helpful I am being as my buddy loads up the cab
