Mine just had what looked like 3/4 of it was missing . About a 6x4 , covered the res.. held on with 2 bolts ..

Yep, that's what my 97 had. The 96 had one like in the pic.

My 97 has the same cover as in the picture, but it says Powerstroke instead of Direct Injection. If it was not a powerstroke it would be InDirect Injection
