I am in need of help. I have a 1999 F-250 Superduty and cannot get my trailer brakes to work. The brake, turnsignals and lights all work. I have tested the main connection plug under the rear of the truck and when I hit the controller, I do not get a signal from the controller. I also cannot get a constant 12 V with the key in the "on" position. Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting? I checked the large fuse under the hood and it isn't blown so I can't figure out why I can't get a signal at the plug. It has worked in the past and the controller is plugged in directly under the dash to the factory supplied plug. Thanks
Check the signals at the brake controller. You have a hot wire(I think that is red) a good ground(white?) and a blue which is the output to the rear brakes. There is another wire which I cannot remember the color, that is the brake signal going into the controller. It should have 12v when you hit the brake pedal.
