Which front axle?
I would like to get a locker or limited slip for the front of my truck. I'm not sure if I have a Dana 44HD or a Dana 50. How do I tell? The rear is a 10.25 full floater and the truck is a 1991 F250.
It is not a F250 HD. It is probably easy to distinguish the two axles, I just dont know how. Also when I find out what axle it is what is a good locker. I just got a Detroit in the rear on Christmas Eve and there is no way that i want that up front. The front axle is one of those TTB's if that helps.

Its the Dana 50 TTB on the F 250.
Are you sure you want another locker up front? You said you don't want something up front like your detroit in the rear.
So, I'd say either go with a selectable locker or a good limited slip up front depends on how much money you want to spend and how you're going to use the truck.

With a LD, the 44HD is most likley, however, a D50 is possible, AFAIK, the housing should have 44 or 50 cast on the bottom, my 50 does.

Good call, I guess it helps if I read the part that says NOT a HD.
