Welcome to FTE! There used to be a link to view them for free online, but it is now a pay site. If you don't mind paying, there are a few sites where you can view the manuals. Sites like motorcraftservice.com or alldatadiy.com come to mind.

What about manuals available for purchase, any better than the other? I think having a hard copy may be the best.

helminc.com / Helm has printed all of Ford's literature since the 1940's and has everything you could possibly need.
These are the factory manuals, the exact same ones the dealers use.

CNC, Welcome as well . I have a Chilton from local parts store pretty much a POS.
I did just order from EBAY a set of factory manuals. pricey but im sure it will be worth
it. I paid $100.00 im sure they will be MUCH better than the Chilton.
Anyway, good hunting, and I hope you find this sight a wealth of information.

The best deal is to get the factory CD/DVD from Helm. It has all the manuals including electrical and more for the price of the paper shop manual only. Still it will set you back like $200, but if you are going to keep the truck a while and do your own work, it is well worth it.
