2000 hitch

i just put a set of 275/75/18 2009 rims and tires on my 2000 f350. the full size spare wont fit inside of the the rails of my hitch. do i need a hitch from a later truck. are the rails or the cross tube different? the receiver tube on my hitch is not flush with my bumper its set in about two inches. its a valley hitch.

The factory hitch on my 2000 has room for my 35" spare with a little left over.

so maybe i need to buy a oem ford hitch. the one on my truck is an aftermarket one. i sent ed the parts guy a PM. i'll see what he can do.
