24" From the top of the frame, directly over the front axle. The Rear is almost 27", again measured at the top of the frame directly over the axle. These numbers come from the 1977 Ford Truck Body Builders Layout Book.

The H/D coil springs are shorter than the standard coil springs, because their wire diameter is thicker.
There are no ID numbers on coil springs, instead Ford painted different color bands on the coils, which are used to ID them instead.
There can be one, two or three color bands, for example: Purple, Green, Purple.
