Spare tire issues

Spare tire fell off, I am sure this is not the first time this happened. 2000 F-150, backing into driveway, heard a thump got out to see and saw the spare laying on the ground under the truck. yes the cable broke, where can i find a new cable or entire assymbly so i can get it tucked back where it belongs. Thanks guys.

Try Rockauto.com first, they will be the cheapest new, used there is always ebay and craigslist.

Mine did that a few years back, pulling away from a stop sign.

I just went to the local hardware store and for a couple bucks bought two of the connections for cable.

Put it back together and it has been holding strong since.

Lot cheaper and easier than replacing the mechanism.

I am not sure where you are in Louisiana...I am in Lafayette.

We have a bunch of used parts dealers "junk yards" here in town mainly on Cameron Street
