head gaskets
i am in the process of putting my heads back on my 390. i cleaned the head, and the top of the bank where the gasket lays. i whiped it down, and got it super clean. set the gasket in place, then the head itself. i put a light coating of 30 wgt like arp recomends on the threads of the bolts, and when i snugged a few of them down, the oil squeezed itself up out of the holes. it got some oil on the gaskets. basically, can i proceed to tighten the heads down? or do i need to take these back apart and clean everything and start over and use much less oil? or won't this little bit matter?
