4 speed to OD

I am looking to change from a 4 speed to some sort of OD. I currently own a 1975 F250 Crew Cab with a 390 and a 4 speed. The truck came from the factory w/ an automatic and no one has changed the steering column. I would like to go to a automatic od if possible. I have seen stand alone ford 4 speed automatics advertised. A five speed manual w/ od would be ok to. Any input would be helpful. How abouta NV 4500 w/ an Avanced Adapters adapter plate, or a ford AOD with an adapter plate, or a 5 speed od browning.
