<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_start --><!-- END TEMPLATE: ad_showthread_firstpost_start -->I had ford run a scan on my truck due to the fact the service engine soon light came on and the truck started running rough when in low rpm's. The truck is completly stock. I have never added a performance chip to it. The codes that came up were as follows:
P1876, B1352, P0603, and P1316
Can anyone tell me if this is going to be a major fix. Dont have alot of money to spend on a truck that I dont drive everyday. Your help is appreciated. Thanks
The 0603 means most likely that the batteries have been disconnected. The 1316 means that more codes are stored on the IDM that they did not pull for you. I didn't see an 1876, I'll check some other sites.
I did a search from the forum page (search is in left hand corner, click search, and input your string. If yo use "P1868" or a similar string it will isolate what you are looking for.
P1876 Transmission transfer case 2- wheel drive solenoid circuit failure
B1352 Ignition Key-in Circuit Failure - Instr Clstr. I don't think any of these are contributing to the engine problem except for maybe 1316. When I got an 1816 my wiring harness near where the valve cover electrical connections are was fraying. You may want to ensure that the connections for the valve covers are tight, and also try unplugging your ICP Sensor to see if that helps. Do a search for ICP Sensor and you will find some pics showing where it is. I'll see if I can find one.
The P1316 with a SES and rough running is probably a loose plastic 9 pin connector under the valve cover/s.... You can ohm check the connectors on the outside of the cover first before pulling the covers. You can reuse the cover gaskets and a little labor, so the cost is 0.. But , you will need to buy a clip from Ford .. or make a shim to slip behind the locking tabs to keep the connector from separating again.... a 25 cent coin modified works great.. Ford fix this problem sometime in 2002 I think...See my gallery for pic's of a loose connector..
But first check the main wire harness that goes over the top of the driver's side valve cover for rubbing and bear wires..
I would first find something to stand on.. or make some about the bumper height.. Also it is good to have a 1/4" socket set with a swivel joint and extension. Note: you can reuse the valve cover gaskets.. And re torque the injector and rocker bolts while you have the covers off....
If you search "engine runs rough" and "SES" you should get the thread for the "quarter mod". Not that you have confirmed that this is what you need yet... BUT it is a good place to start! There are ways to check the 9 pin connector without pulling the valve cover. All this is explained in the tread "engine runs rough". There are also tips on how to pull the valve cover and ways to test the 9 pin connector. Good luck!!!!

might check your wires connecting to your injectors under your valve covers.
X2. That's the most common issue we see with the P1316. It would account for the light and the rough running. Here's a link that includes how to test this and repair along with some pictures. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ck-shakes.html
